You can argue it’s a classic case of the rich getting richer. Yankees, best team in all of baseball, get their ace back. Gerrit Cole set to make his season debut on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles. Garrett Cole, you might remember him for the season, was ruled out for a while with nerve irritation in his right throwing elbow. Now the team thought, we thought, would stumble a lot, but Luis Gil’s been fantastic, the pitching and the hitting’s been fantastic and this team has the best record in all of baseball.

So is Cole going to be on a pitch count? I mean, the team can say one thing we don’t really know. Three rehab starts, he’s been outstanding. One earned run allowed in 12 and one -thirds. I mean, 19 strikeouts. That’s all in AAA, Scranton, Wilkes -Barre, but still had his stuff. 19 strikeouts, still 19 strikeouts for the reigning Cy Young Award winner. Buck 75 against the Orioles, not in a rush to lay it, you saw the Yankees offense get back on track after losing the last two games to Boston in Fenway.

This Orioles lineup is obviously pretty potent, but the Yankees are so strong, but the price is too high. I would go under 8 .5. I mean, Judge got hit in the left hand, now it looks like X -Ray’s negative, he should be in the lineup on Wednesday, but I would still side with the under 8 .5. And Gerrit Cole I trust, and then the Orioles pitching should have enough. I think their bats have finally calmed down a little bit. So that’s how I wanted to play this game. Eight and a half with Gerrit Cole on the bump. Maybe even chop it up a half unit on that and a half unit on the first five under. But for the most part, I’m expecting Gerrit Cole to be his usual self.
