Never too early to talk NFL. In fact, near the end of June is actually kind of on the late side when wind totals have been posted for a while. We already know the schedule, so they’ve been hammered into place, but I still think there’s significant betting value with this particular win total. The Tennessee Titans under six and a half wins minus 135, I know it’s a little juicy, but you know, all these books want the halves because they want to cash tickets. They don’t want to push anything. So the juice is going to sometimes skew that way.

This seems like a rebuilding year for the Titans. They fired Mike Vrabel, who I think is as good as it comes in terms of coaching up teams. I mean, their performances were always better than what they kind of were on paper. He found a way to optimize talent and they really kind of played above their weight class, so to speak. So I think that’s a big loss. And then you lose the star power in Derrick Henry. Will Levis is the quarterback. He had that one game with four touchdown passes and then the rest of the games combined he had four TD passes. So, the verdict is still out on him. He could be really good. We shall see.

Now they did address all those O -line issues. That was a really big weak spot last year. They drafted an O -line in the first round. They also signed one and they have good weapons at the skill positions outside of quarterback. So Tony Pollard from the Cowboys comes over, Calvin Ridley back from his suspension, a wide receiver and another wide out, DeAndre Hopkins. So D -Hop’s certainly a weapon there. So there are playmakers, so to speak, but every team has playmakers at this level now.

And their division, the AFC South, is no longer just a bottom feeder punching bag. They’re actually some pretty good teams. The Texans, obviously with CJ Stroud, they are the division favorite. The Jaguars have Trevor Lawrence. I mean, they’ve obviously headed in the right direction. And the Colts, we’ll see about Anthony Richardson. But again, they’re no longer like the laughing stock, that division. On top of that, the two divisions they have to play outside of their own are tough with the AFC East and the NFC North.

AFC East, you have the three tough games with Miami, the Jets assuming Aaron Rodgers is fine, then the Bills. And then the Tennessee does get the Patriots at home. So they’ll be favored in that game. And the other division, the NFC North, which the Lions, the Packers, Vikings, we don’t think are gonna be that bad. I mean, we’ll see about their quarterback situation, if it’s gonna be McCarthy or not. And then at the Bears in week one. So even the opener at Chicago, rookie quarterback, shaky team, Titans are dogs by four and a half, not three, four and a half. So that tells you something about the power rating of Tennessee. So not exactly impressed as the betting world.

And then they’re sort of got some bad luck with the last place schedule, meaning you get the last place team in three other divisions and it’s teams that were only poor because of injuries and things like that. So they have to play the Bengals now that Joe Burrows back and the Chargers, new coach, obviously Herbert. And then they do go at Washington, but Washington should be a little bit better. And that’s a road game in December. So not exactly an automatic win. I think the Titans are only going to be a favored in one or two or three games. I mean, they may like split with Indianapolis. I don’t think they beat Houston at home. Maybe they do. I don’t think they beat Jackson. Maybe, but I don’t see seven wins.

So six and a half. I thought this number, to be honest, I thought this number would be four and a half and it’s six and a half. So that’s a big difference. I actually texted an odds maker and said, in what world do the Titans win seven or more games? And he goes, there is no world. So he’s a sharp NFL odds maker. Now, obviously anything can happen, but, I think that’s my favorite win total.
