Following her 25 and 16 rebound effort, Angel Reese now sort of in the rookie of the year conversation. Her odds just a handful of days ago were around 14 to one. She’s now six to one as the second favorite behind Caitlin Clark of the Fever. So after that monster performance, 25 and 16, Angel Reese now facing the league’s best player, the MVP betting favorite and someone she has been compared to in terms of putting up rookie rebounding numbers the last time since A’ja Wilson was a rookie.
So the Las Vegas Aces head to the Windy City, Las Vegas, nine and a half point road favorites. You’re over under 169. First things first, I like the Aces. Chelsea Gray is back. Now she’s not back back, but this team is starting to hum. I don’t really think highly of the Chicago team. They can get down big numbers. They were actually down double digits to Indiana. Now Fever were shooting the ball great, but still I think the Aces take care of business. Anytime you can get them in the single digit range, you have to look to them because they have so much firepower.
Their defense isn’t quite the same, but I don’t think the Sky posed the offensive threats that some of the other teams do. They do have size with Kamila Cardoso and then obviously Angel Reese’s rebounding, but I think the Aces with Stokes and Asia can handle that. So I do like the Aces minus the nine and a half. Now, naturally there’s some rebounding props that are certainly interesting. Asia Wilson’s rebounding prop is 11 and a half. Angel Reese’s 12 and a half rebounds. So that’s a big number. She was around 10 and a half or 11 and a half in her last game. Now she will be up for this game going against A’ja Wilson. So I’m inclined to bet over, but because of the size with Stokes and Wilson, I think that’s a big rebounding number. Now she has a motor like no other. So you’re not going to make a lot of money betting under against Angel Reese for her rebounds prop, but I’d be very careful betting the over. There’s better opportunities, not as skilled rebounders that she’s going to be going up against in other games.
So I would pass on the over for Angel Reese, but I wouldn’t be shocked if she goes over again because she has been a workhorse on the boards.
