In his first ever coaching opportunity, Lakers rookie head coach JJ Redick is the +1000 co-favorite at DraftKings for NBA Coach of the Year.

Joe Mazzulla of the defending champion Boston Celtics and Jamahl Mosley of the Orlando Magic are the other +1000 co-favorites. Last year’s winner, Mark Daigneault of the Oklahoma City Thunder, is next with +1300 odds.

Redick recently worked with ESPN as an NBA analyst and color commentator. He also co-hosted a podcast with Lakers superstar LeBron James. However, he has never held an assistant coaching position at any level.

Last year’s runner-up Chris Finch of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Nick Nurse of the Toronto Raptors, Taylor Jenkins of the Memphis Grizzlies and Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat have +1400 odds.
