One of the biggest names in all of baseball takes the bump on Tuesday. Paul Skenes and the Pittsburgh Pirates hosting the St. Louis Cardinals. No line out just yet, but we know that Skenes strikeout prop is going to be seven and a half. That’s what it’s been for, you know, eight straight starts, nine straight starts. So what do we go on? Well, he’s gone over that mark in six of seven and his last full start where he had that no hitter, 11 strikeouts, just one walk with that base runner.
It’s over a pass, I do think there’s still value on the over just given this guy is such, he’s so big. Like the frame is there. He can take sort of the mileage on his body and he had that one, you know, obviously shutout inning in the All-Star game didn’t get any strikeouts, but I think Skenes over. It’s going to be heavily juiced. It all depends on the juice for me, but that’s something I’m keeping an eye on because this guy has not had a bad outing. Now the question will he be on an innings count for the rest of the season have enough sort of, you know, starts to get the award.
But he went from about 55 to one to four to one. So he’s right there in the discussion and he hasn’t had a bad outing. mean, the most he gives up is two runs against the Dodgers and then one earned every other start except for the Bagels. He’s shut out teams. So I think Skenes is fantastic. So I like all of his props as long as the juice is within reason.
