This might be my favorite play for men’s basketball in the Olympics. I’ve been waiting for a matchup like this and I think it’s really one-sided. Germany against Brazil. Now, Germany is a double -digit favorite. Favorite by 12 and a half with an over -under of 166. So relatively low over -under by international basketball standards. But I think Germany is just too good. This is a team that won the World Cup recently and they have the Wagner brothers, Daniel Theis, the big man.

And then Dennis Schroeder at his best can play pretty well at the point guard now. He’ll have trouble against better backcourts, but this Brazil team is real thin. They lost by I believe a dozen to France, but after after Brazil was up in the first quarter like the next two quarters France just dominated. I think Brazil scored 22 points combined over the second and third quarters. They don’t belong on the court like Raul Neto is one of their guards.

We might know him from NBA games, but this guy was a fringe NBA player. I think Germany has excellent chemistry and a significant talent edge. I think this is a 17 to 25 point win for the Germans.
