What an intriguing matchup we have in the semi -finals of Olympic men’s basketball. Germany against France, two teams that faced each other in group play and Germany won convincingly, led by 20 or so at the break and cruise. But this is a different France team coming off the upset of Canada where they changed their starting lineup. So what do we expect in this matchup? Well, Germany’s a five and a half point favorite. You’re over under 156 and a half.

That number about 30 points lower than the other semifinal game with Serbia and America, team USA. So it should be just fascinating just watching those two games back to back, see how different they are. As for this matchup, for me, it’s Germany or pass. I know that you can’t just assume that we’re to have the repeat of the earlier meeting, but we don’t need a repeat. We don’t need a double digit win. We just need a six point win. And I think the Germans are that much better. And the fact that they’re coming off a game where they started incredibly slow down double digits to Greece. I think they’re going to be more ready for this opponent when they’re expected to win. And obviously the crowd will be supporting the French team.

Prop market is super interesting. I mentioned the starting lineup change. Rudy Gobert benched, came off the bench in the last game. And then Guerschon Yabusele got the start and a huge uptick in usage and minutes. So his minutes went from about 18 to 30 and his shot volume as well. And he scored 22 points against Canada with that start. I think he’s a very energetic player. The ball finds energy.

I think we’re going to see a lot of points. I love, love his over for nine and a half points and 10 and a half points, depending on the sports book and the offering. think there’s great value there. It’s a really difficult situation for the odds makers to the so much to the point where they aren’t offering Gobert props, but I think Yabusele is really low on that. So I think there’s a great edge there for sure.
