Either oddsmakers were unimpressed or had already accounted for dazzling plays in the preseason.
Despite two sensational highlights, including an improvisational touchdown run, Chicago Bears top overall pick and potential franchise savior Caleb Williams did not see his odds move much for the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Williams entered the week as the betting favorite with odds around +130 and that remains the case across the market. The Bears offense did struggle its first three drives but the former Heisman Trophy winner closed the first half with scoring drives of a field goal and touchdown.
The TD came via Williams’ legs, fostering memories of his USC days. The pocket collapsed and he changed course during the scramble to break containment and scamper into the endzone untouched.
At Caesars, Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is the second favorite with +475 odds. Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is next at +600, followed by wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. of the Arizona Cardinals at +750.
