Conference realignment across college football is providing some strange matchups. And we have one on Friday night on national television on Fox with Washington from the Pacific Northwest at Rutgers. Yeah, pretty, pretty strange. Nice Big Ten showdown, right? So Rutgers, a short home favorite in this one, -1.5. You’re over/under 44.5.

This Washington team, obviously they lost their coach to Alabama. They lost their quarterback to the NFL, but they’ve done some nice things. They were out of the gates 3-0 then lose to Washington State in the Apple Cup, a September Apple Cup. But it was at home. Wazoo goes in there and wins by five in a relatively low scoring game.

And now they travel to Rutgers, a Scarlet Knight squad that all of a sudden can put up some points. This offense is scoring. They’re led by running back who’s a senior Kyle Monaghan guy and he’s been 457 rushing yards in three games. So an absolute monster had over 201 in one of those and they’re 3-0 and they’re pounding teams. Now they’ve started 3-0 several years in a row. I believe this is the fourth straight year, but they got the nice win over Virginia Tech that came down to the wire really tight sharps on both sides of that game. So that was interesting to see how it played out just from a betting perspective.

I’m on Rutgers here. I’m gonna put some stock in the travel and the home field and everything, but it’s not a huge play. I know some respected group did come in on Rutgers minus the one I wanna say. So 1.5’s fine for me, but this will be interesting. These are coin flip outcome in my eyes. I’ll just side with the home team, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Washington does get the win.
