After accounting for three touchdowns in a dominant Bills win to clinch the AFC’s #2 seed, Josh Allen became a bigger NFL MVP favorite.
Allen’s odds increased from -200 to -320 at FanDuel, and the Buffalo quarterback will likely skip the regular season finale since it will not impact playoff seeding.
Lamar Jackson entered the weekend as the second favorite with +130 odds but those are now +250. On Christmas Day, the reigning MVP threw two touchdown passes and ran for another one, including 87 yards rushing.
Jackson currently sits fourth in passing yards with 37 TD passes and just four interceptions.
Allen and the Buffalo Bills locked up the #2 seed, while Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are headed for the #3 seed.
Meanwhile, Joe Burrow’s odds have crashed the past few weeks, as the Cincinnati Bengals continue to strengthen their playoff chances. The QB is now the third favorite with +1500 odds after being a 200-to-1 longshot a few weeks ago.
Two weeks ago, Allen finished with three touchdown passes, while running for another three TD in a 44-42 loss at the Los Angeles Rams.
Three weeks ago, in perhaps the season’s most memorable play, Allen recorded a unique receiving touchdown in snowy conditions on national television.
Allen completed a pass to Amari Cooper but as the wide receiver was being tackled, he lateraled the ball to his quarterback, who then raced to the endzone to score a TD by diving and extending the ball inside the pylon. The home crowd at Orchard Park celebrated and the primetime audience witnessed a dominating effort.
