Playoff season has arrived for the PGA Tour as the FedEx St. Judge Championship is underway. The event replaces the Northern Trust as the first round of the FedEx Cup playoffs. We have a pretty sense of who will be contending for the event, and there are some good bets available based on how the first round has played out.
The Favorite: Tony Finau
Finau is on a pace that has him on track to take the event. He still has plus odds as it stands right now, so a bet on him finishing first is worth a shot. Unless Finau takes a stranglehold and the odds change a ton, he is the play if you want to bet on someone winning outright.
Top Five: Sepp Straka
Straka 10 under after two rounds, which had him at the top of the leaderboard at the time he came off the 18th hole. He has around +300 odds to finish in the top five depending on where you look. That is just too good to pass up for someone who is likely going to start the third round in the top three.
Top Ten: Sahith Theegala
Theegala finished seven under after two rounds, good enough to have him tied for seventh with a crowd of other players. Out of that group of players, he has the best odds at around +220 depending on when and where you look. Grabbing someone from the crowd of players who are tied for seventh seems like a good idea, and you might as well grab the player with the highest payout.
