Two of the quarterbacks from the 2021 draft were popular names this week. Trevor Lawrence had a great game against the Los Angeles Chargers, and Jacksonville might be better than everyone expected. He is one of the top waiver wire targets this week. Zach Wilson is expected to make his season debut as well, so he might be someone worth taking a flier on. He looks to have a legit weapon in Garrett Wilson as well. The upside is certainly there.
Khalil Herbert is rostered in under 50% of leagues and should absolutely be picked up. Starting running back David Montgomery got banged up against the Texans, and Herbert performed well in relief. Herbert was expected to see a significant role as the season went along anyway, but he has proven to be a weapon right now. If you’re in need of another running back, check to see if Herbert is available.
Romeo Doubs is certainly trending upward. He led the Packers in targets with 8 and caught all of them. It’s a great sign that Aaron Rodgers is trusting the rookie wide receiver. His production should only get better as the season goes along as Rodgers tries to find that go-to guy with Davante Adams gone.
Jets tight end Tyler Conklin was the most popular name this week. He had eight receptions last week for 84 yards. The Jets face the Steelers this week, who have not played well defensively against tight ends so far this season. With byes coming up, Conklin could be a good target for your roster.
