A prop is a proposition bet — a wager on a specific outcome within a game. That could be a quarterback’s total passing yards, the number of three-pointers, or maybe something fairly random — like the total number of sacks by one team. If you can think of it, it’s probably offered on the betting menu. As you would imagine, the popularity of fantasy sports is enabling new bettors to feel more comfortable — props are much easier for them to digest.
