Mega Football Weekend Betting Preview

By Ryan Bologna

There is only one matchup between teams with winning records in the NFL this week, so you might not think this slate of games is very exciting. However, there are still some good bets to place. Here are the games we’re targeting this weekend.

Season Record: 11-11-2

No. 2 Ohio State (-15.5) @ No. 13 Penn State

Pick: Ohio State -15.5

Penn State is coming into this matchup at 6-1, but some of their games have been close for comfort this year. They easily could have lost to Purdue and didn’t look great against Northwestern. Michigan took care of Penn State as well by a score of 41-17. Ohio State is arguably better than Michigan and should pull away in the second half to cover this number.

Las Vegas Raiders (-1.5) @ New Orleans Saints

Pick: Raiders -1.5

The NFC South is incredibly weak this year, and the Saints are sticking with Andy Dalton at quarterback. The Raiders are better than their 2-4 record indicates, and are a team that could potentially go on a run over the next couple of weeks. Expect the Raiders to cover here.

New England Patriots (-2.5) @ New York Jets

Pick: Jets +2.5

It’s confusing to see the Jets as underdogs in this matchup, especially with this game being at home. Yes, they lost Breece Hall for the season, but the Jets defense should be in for a good day against a Patriots offense that struggled against Chicago on Monday Night Football. Mac Jones is expected to start, and even if he gets pulled again, Bailey Zappe is no sure thing.

Gas Station Sushi (Stay Away)

Broncos @ Jaguars

Everything about this game is weird. First of all, it’s in London, and crazy things always seem to happen there. The Jaguars are used to playing over there and are coming off a heartbreaking loss against the Giants. The Broncos defense should keep Denver in this game, but we all know Russell Wilson isn’t playing well at all. This just seems like one of those unpredictable London games. We have seen the Jaguars play many of those types of games in the past.
