Mega Football Weekend Betting Preview

By Ryan Bologna

We are about halfway through the NFL season, and the College Football Playoff picture is coming into form. There are plenty of interesting games this weekend, and we’re here to give you the best bets.

Season Record: 12-15-3

No. 9 Alabama (-12) @ No. 11 Ole Miss

Pick: Ole Miss +12

These teams need a lot of help when it comes to making the College Football Playoff, but it is one of the best games this weekend. If LSU falters and loses against either Arkansas or Texas A&M, the winner of this game could sneak into the SEC Championship. Alabama has played too many close games this year to pick them in this spot. Ole Miss might not win, but it should be closer than 12 points.

Lions @ Bears (-3)

Pick: Bears -3

Justin Fields has looked different since beating the Patriots on Monday Night Football. It seems that Chicago has used his legs as a weapon, and he is playing confidently as a result. The Lions got a win against a struggling Packers team, but the Bears should have enough offense to cover the spread at home.

Colts @ Raiders (-4.5)

Pick: Raiders -4.5

It’s risky to pick the Raiders against anybody at this point, but with the Colts hiring Jeff Saturday, it should be a spot where they get a win. The Colts are going with an inexperienced head coach and play caller this weekend. This is the type of game that could get a coach fired the next day. It won’t be pretty, but expect the Raiders to cover.

Gas Station Sushi (Stay Away)

Saints (-1.5) @ Steelers

This is just a weird game. For some reason, a good amount of people picked the Saints against the Ravens on Monday Night Football. The illusion that New Orleans is anywhere near good should be gone. Pittsburgh should be getting T.J. Watt back, and that should help them keep this game close. No matter who you take here, you will probably be in danger of a loss with one bad turnover. Stay away from betting on this one.
