In its last game, Virginia had a commanding 19-12 win against Syracuse, and its defense has also been impressive, allowing an average of only 9.6 goals per game. Virginia will next face Lafayette on 4/25 and look to continue its winning streak. With its impressive record and strong performance, Virginia’s odds of winning the National Championship currently stand at +380.
Johns Hopkins 11-4 (+1200)
Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse has a long and storied history, with numerous national championships to its name. Ranked No. 4 in the country, John Hopkins increased its record to 11-4 this past weekend after a thrilling 12-11 victory over No. 3 Maryland, which was the last game of its regular season. Johns Hopkins has a strong chance of making a deep run in the National Championship Tournament, with odds of +1200 to win it all. With a talented roster and a winning tradition, this team is definitely one to watch.
Penn State 9-3 (+1600)
Penn State had a successful season, finishing with a 9-3 record and the No. 5 spot in the rankings. Penn State ended the regular season on a high note with a convincing 14-5 win over No. 14 Rutgers. Despite a strong performance, the odds for Penn State to win the National Championship are +1600, however, the team has proven to be a formidable force, with notable victories over highly-ranked opponents such as Johns Hopkins and Ohio State earlier in the season. With talented players and a skilled coaching staff, Penn State could still make a deep run in the playoffs and potentially compete for the national title.
Rivalry Games Recap:
Johns Hopkins beat Maryland in a nail-biting 12-11 victory. Army also secured a solid 11-6 win over Navy in another classic rivalry game. In the Syracuse versus Virginia matchup, Virginia came out on top with a convincing 19-12 win, and in the Ohio State versus Michigan game, Michigan came out victorious with a 19-14 win and will face Ohio State again next weekend. These games have not only provided exciting entertainment for lacrosse fans but also given teams a chance to prove themselves and gain momentum heading into the postseason.
