The 44th Ryder Cup at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club is just under four weeks away and Zach Johnson’s Team USA squad is the betting favorite to win the cherished trophy.

Following the United States team selection last week, European captain Luke Donald announced his six wildcard picks and since then, they have received strong support from bettors and have taken 77% of the market’s wagers in the past 24 hours.

Ludvig Aberg, who went pro only a few months ago in June, is one of four rookies on Donald’s European team. Aberg recently won the Omega European Masters with a six-under final round. USA’s captain, Johnson, based several of his picks on past Ryder Cup performances to give his team a clear advantage in terms of experience.
