USC’s Caleb Williams remains the Heisman Trophy favorite to repeat but other quarterbacks have climbed the betting board after notching high-profile wins.
Following Texas’ upset of then third-ranked Alabama, Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers has now reached third-favorite status at +900, after entering the season at +1500. Against the Crimson Tide, Ewers threw for 349 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. U.T. is ranked #4 in the Associated Press poll and received two first-place votes.
Florida State’s Jordan Travis is the second-favorite at +850, after opening the season at +1400. The Seminoles defeated LSU over Labor Day weekend in a top-five matchup on Sunday night with no other games being played. The senior threw four touchdowns and helped FSU dominate the second half. The Seminoles are currently ranked third and received three first-place votes.
Williams began the season at +450 and has moved to +350, following highlight plays and gaudy numbers against subpar competition. The Trojans are 3-0 and ranked #5 behind the quarterback’s 12 touchdowns and 79% completion rate without an interception. His first game against a ranked opponent will come against Colorado and coach Deion Sanders on September 30.
