After an eventful and high-profile Saturday in the Pac-12, Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is now an odds-on Heisman Trophy betting favorite. His odds were reposted Saturday night at -110 and have since moved even higher to -140.
The lefty drove the Huskies 53 yards in two pass plays, including the game-winning touchdown pass with 1:43 left, to help eighth-ranked Washington defeat Oregon in a top-10 conference showdown. Penix finished with 302 passing yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, USC QB and reigning Heisman Caleb Williams threw three interceptions in a blowout loss at Notre Dame, while being held to 199 passing yards and one touchdown.
Wiliams and Penix were consensus co-favorites entering the weekend. Williams and Oregon QB Bo Nix each now have +2000 odds.
There is now a large gap behind Penix with Oklahoma’s Dillon Garbiel and Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy at +1000. Florida State’s Jordan Travis (+1200) and LSU’s Jayden Daniels (+1400) are next.
Georgia is the nation’s top-ranked team. QB Carson Beck has +5000 odds.
