Could we really see Giannis Antetokounmpo get bounced from group play in the Olympics? Well, Greece is 0 -2 to start group play and they are five and a half point underdogs in their next game. They face Australia, which is a team that does have some NBA talent of its own, although not to the level like a former MVP in Giannis, but they do have some familiar names and some familiarity with the international game. But the Greeks are 0 -2 to start and it’s been really weird with this like they don’t always get the ball to Giannis when you think and in the recent game he subbed out with 90 seconds to go in the first half. It’s just perplexing stuff. And I know you can’t be a one man wrecking crew, but Jokic kind of is with Serbia. And I would expect it a little more from Giannis with Greece, but I also was fading them because I thought his game didn’t translate as well to the international game, like maybe Jokic’s game. as far as this game, I do lean to Australia. Five and a half is pretty pricey.
The Australians are legit. They’re trying to win a medal. have Patty Mills, Fiba Patty Mills, because he’s all world whenever he plays international. But they have some other players and some complimentary pieces. They play with great chemistry. And Josh Giddey really the straw that stirs the great, the offensive, the drink I should say, the offensive playmaker. So I leaned to Australia. I don’t know if Greece is going to fold here, but I probably leaned to them playing hard, but Australia is just too good. So it’s a small lean to lane the five and a half points.
