Paul Skenes is certainly moving the needle in this first half of the baseball season. The former number one overall pick, one of the biggest headlines so far, absolutely filthy and could start the All-Star game on the bump for the National League. We shall see. But he is starting on Thursday in Milwaukee against the Brewers. And I have to bet the over on his strikeout props. He’s gone eight or more strikeouts in six of his last seven starts. So certainly worth noting.

As well as how the last start ended. Could have been pulled, went back out there, and he got over the strikeout prop on his last batter faced. Something to keep in mind, obviously, pirates don’t do a lot of things right. Sometimes they coddle or baby their pitchers, but Skenes has got a big frame. They left him out there and he’s been lights out. I even threw a little bit on him to win the Cy Young. It’s 55 to one at FanDuel, 30 to one at DraftKings, you never know how this second half is going to unfold.

If he does continue this dominance, because he hasn’t had one bad outing, then the late sort of start to the season for him, where he came up, you know, not at the beginning of the season, who cares? He’s going to be awesome for two thirds of the season. He’ll have enough kind of reps or starts under his belt. The question is, will Pittsburgh pull him? I think 55 to one is certainly bettable, as is the props over on Thursday.
