One of the best stories in all of baseball is Chris Sale’s resurgence with the Atlanta Braves. He almost started the All -Star game. That went to Paul Skenes, but still, Sale has been a stud this season. First things first, let’s talk about the Cy Young race. He is your betting favorite at plus 140. Zach Wheeler, who pitched great on Tuesday, right there as well, +175. Paul Skenes lurking at three to one, and then a giant drop off to every other pitcher.

Sale and the Braves hosting the Reds for a doubleheader on Wednesday, because there was a game on Tuesday that was delayed. So I like game two. Now, Braves are $1 .70 favorites in game two. And given what the offense has been doing or really not doing lately for Atlanta, I just can’t lay that kind of lumber, even with Sale on the mound. Albies is hurt. Matt Olson hasn’t been the same this year. know, Ozuna has been solid, but just not enough production right now with this Atlanta offense.

So I would rather do pitching props for sale. But the problem is he’s a high volume guy and doesn’t always go deep into games. For example, in two of his last three outings, he’s thrown at least a hundred pitches, but it didn’t make it past six innings. That’s because the strikeouts and obviously pitch count for strikeouts, nine Ks in both of those games.

So you got to pick the spots, I like maybe earned runs under for Sale things along those lines because since giving up eight earned, on June 1st to the Oakland A’s, he’s had seven straight starts where he has given up two earned or less. He’s just been lights out and no reason to not think he delivers against Cincinnati in game two of the double header
