America’s golf championship returns to the Sandhills of North Carolina for the U.S. Open this weekend. The 124th U.S. Open at the historic Pinehurst No. 2 course will be contested over the Donald Ross design and provide a major challenge to the world’s top golfers.

Scheffler is a +300 U.S. Open favorite this week, which are the shortest odds for a major championship since Woods at the 2009 PGA Championship.

Reigning Masters champion Scottie Scheffler finds himself in his usual position atop the betting board, listed as the +360 favorite. He has not finished outside the top 10 in any of his last 10 starts on the PGA Tour.

With Scottie Scheffler taking the week off, McIlroy is the +360 favorite as he tries to repeat at a familiar course. The Northern Irishman headlines a watered-down field that includes the likes of Tommy Fleetwood (+1600), Sahith Theegala (+1800) and defending champion, Nick Taylor (+8000).

After a wild major championship weekend that saw the world's top-ranked golfer get arrested hours before his tee time, the schedule thankfully moves on with much less hoopla. And Scottie Scheffler is the +270 betting favorite.

The 106th PGA Championship gets underway at Valhalla in Kentucky on Thursday with defending champion Brooks Koepka in a field of 156 players.
