Aces’ Wilson separating from MVP pack

The betting odds indicate that two-time WNBA MVP and reigning Finals MVP A’ja Wilson has become more likely to win a third MVP over the past two weeks.

The 6’4″ Las Vegas Aces star is now a -145 favorite at Caesars Sportsbook, after moving to an odds-favorite of -110 on May 20.

Alyssa Thomas of the undefeated Connecticut Sun has seen her odds shift from +850 to +550 and is now the second favorite. Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier is next with +700 odds, followed by Phoenix’s Kalhleah Copper at +1100.

Reigning MVP Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty experienced teh largest drop, falling from second favorite at +850 to +1400 odds.

Wilson and the Aces are off to a slow 4-2 start, although they are playing without point guard Chelsea Gray. Wilson is averaging 26.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks, ranking second in the league in each category.

Wilson has also won the Defensive Player of the Year award in each of the past two seasons.

She and the Aces are also +100 championship favorites, trying to become just the second team ever to win three straight WNBA titles.
