What on earth has gotten into Dylan Cease? The man has been virtually unhittable in his last four starts that includes a no hitter. How about one earned allowed over all four starts in a row? Really impressive stuff. And many times we see pitchers hit a wall after a no hitter, but no, he pitched great. That was the one time he gave up an earned run, but he went five and two thirds against that Dodgers lineup, allowing just three hits, also walked three. So the question is, is Cease gonna come back to earth? Is he gonna hit a wall?
I don’t think so. mean, he’s always had good stuff, figured it out. He did go 101 pitches, but that was after 114 and he still had strong stuff. So I like what I’m seeing with Cease. There’s no reason to think it’s going to hit a wall come crashing down. But if it did, I would not be surprised. I just don’t think the Pirates are the team to do it as the Padres are in Pittsburgh to face the Buccos.
So I’m going to keep writing Dylan Cease. I’m going to not worry their offense, even though I do like what I’m seeing lately, they’ve been on a little bit of a roll. So I would basically just do pitching props, like hit total outs recorded, strikeouts, he has too much variance, he’ll go as high as 11, low as like five. So I’m not like in love with that, but I would do outs recorded. I think we see him go deep into the game. So if you can get 17 and a half outs, something like that, and expect six innings, I’m okay with that. I would take the over there.
