Acquiring Mikal Bridges has shifted the New York Knicks from an ordinary playoff team to a legitimate championship contender, based on the current NBA betting odds.

FanDuel lowered New York’s title odds from around +1600 to +850 odds, making them the third favorite behind the Boston Celtics (+290) and Denver Nuggets (+750).

The Knicks acquired Bridges in a massive deal with the Brooklyn Nets, reuniting him with fellow Villanova products in Jalen Brunson, Dante DiVincenzo and Josh Hart.

The Knicks also announced a new contract with OG Anunoby for five years and $212.5 million.
