Pac-12 basketball begins its curtain call this season as multiple programs are scheduled to leave the conference searching for greener pastures – literally. The conference of champions has existed for over a century but now plays its final season.
The betting market suggests a blue blood, Arizona (+175 favorite), will claim the final banner but should be challenged by a SoCal team – but not UCLA and its 11 national championships. Rather, USC is the second favorite at +340.
The Wildcats enter the season ranked 12th in the A.P. Poll, giving head coach Tommy Lloyd a chance to rectify early tournament exits in his third season.
The Trojans are ranked 21st and landed prized recruit, Bronny James, the son of LeBron James.
The Bruins are the fourth-favorite at +800, just behind Colorado. UCLA did recently reach the 2021 Final Four with current coach Mick Cronin but the university last won a title in 1995.
Below are the regular season title odds for the Pac 12, courtesy of FanDuel:
Arizona (+175)
USC (+340)
Colorado (+600)
UCLA (+700)
Oregon (+950)
Stanford (+1100)
Utah (+1400)
Washington (+2800)
Arizona State (+5000)
California (+5000)
Washington State (+5000)
Oregon State (+25000)
We expect these odds to continue to adjust based on the results from non-conference play before the start of PAC 12 action.
