This year’s NBA Finals will never foster ‘David vs. Goliath’ analogies, but it does pit the team with the best record that has been the betting favorite all season against a team that opened the year as a solid longshot.

The Boston Celtics are about -210 consensus favorites and will have home-court advantage over the Dallas Mavericks.

Dallas entered the season with title odds in the neighborhood of 25-1 and those odds reached higher during the year. However, midseason acquisitions of big mean Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington improved the defensive metrics.

Boston is favored by six points in Game 1, which is Thursday, June 6.
