As if this series wasn’t wild enough, we have some serious line movement for game 3 of the WNBA Finals. New York now a sizable road favorite with the series tied 1-1. So the Liberty laying 3.5 now at the Lynx for Wednesday’s game 3. Remember, New York pretty much dominated games 1 and 2, but the Lynx had that comeback in game 1 to steal it. And we have now a 1-1 series. The Lynx have only led for three minutes total of the first two games. Nonetheless, it’s 1-1 series.

Couple things to address. First of all, before the series, if anybody tailed, I think you’re in good shape. I bet the Liberty would have a two games to one series lead after three games. So they’ve went to the first three at -104. Obviously they’re a sizable favorite in game 3 with the series tied 1-1. So that’s an advantageous position. I also was very strong on the Lynx throughout the regular season about their championship odds. 17-1, even 11-1. let’s combine that and let’s make it 14-1. If you’re in that position, you want to hedge the Liberty a little bit. I get it. I have the hedge, obviously game three money line. We also bet Jonquel Jones at 25- or 26-1 to win the finals MVP. That’s a pseudo hedge.

Overall, if you just have a certain position and or don’t have any positions, I would say I leaned the Liberty -3.5. I don’t think they’re going to win both games 3 and 4 in Minnesota because that would mean they’d be winning three straight. I don’t think they’re good enough to do that against this polished and high variance Lynx squad. One of these two games, Minnesota is gonna move the ball beautifully, hit open shots, have layups, and the Liberty defense is gonna regress or deteriorate like we saw in the regular season. As much as the Liberty have dominated this finals, don’t forget the Lynx won three of the four regular season meetings, including the big one that counted, the Commissioner’s Cup head-to-head in New York.

So this Lynx team, don’t count them out. Napheesa Collier’s excellent. And the supporting cast should play better at home just like all roleplayers do. So I only lean to the Liberty -3.5 , but obviously I, and I hope some of you have some great positions outside of that.
