Chet Holmgren has surpassed Victor Wembanyama and become the odds-on favorite for the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

Holmgren just earned Western Conference “Rookie of the Month” honors for both October and November and is averaging 16.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists this year. The 21-year-old was the #2 overall pick in 2022 but missed the entire season with a Lisfranc injury.

Wembanyama, the top overall pick in this year’s draft, is leading the Spurs in points (19.0), rebounds (11.0), steals (1.3) and blocks (3.0). However, San Antonio is just 4-21 this season, while the Thunder are 17-8 and currently own the second seed in the west.
