Mega Football Weekend Betting Preview

By Ryan Bologna

It’s conference championship weekend in college football, and there are some games with playoff implications in the NFL. Here are some of the games you might want to target from a betting perspective.

Season Record: 15-21-3

No. 10 Kansas State vs No. 3 TCU (-2.5)

Pick: TCU -2.5

After a narrow win against Baylor, some might be skeptical of TCU, and Kansas State isn’t an easy matchup. However, TCU proved to have plenty of firepower with its 62-14 win against Iowa State a week ago. It won’t be a blowout, but with the spread that small, TCU is the pick here. Expect them to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff with a win.

Jaguars (-1) @ Lions

Pick: Lions +1

The Lions have played really well as of late, and are not far off from having a four-game winnings streak heading into this game. Detroit being one-point underdogs in this game is a bit surprising. The Lions’ playoff hopes took a big hit after losing to the Bills on Thanksgiving. They essentially need to run the table to have a shot, and they should take that first step at home against Jacksonville.

Chargers @ Raiders (-1)

Pick: Chargers +1

Sure, the Raiders have won two in a row, but that doesn’t mean you should be comfortable betting on them. They got an overtime win against a bad Denver team, and beat Seattle in overtime. Josh Jacobs probably isn’t going to explode like he did against Seattle again. The Chargers should be the pick as one-point road underdogs.

Gas Station Sushi (Stay Away)

Seahawks (-7) @ Rams

The Rams are bad, and pretty much everyone knows that. However, it’s just hard to bet on Geno Smith with a spread this big. It would be a shock if the Rams won the game, but the Seahawks just played down to the Raiders’ level last week. Seattle could cover, but don’t be surprised if it’s within a seven-point margin.
