There are six teams on bye weeks in the NFL this week, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any good games from a betting perspective. There is a big college game we have our eyes on as well. Here are some of the best bets for this weekend’s football games.
Season Record: 11-14-2
No. 1 Tennessee @ No. 3 Georgia (-8.5)
Pick: Tennessee +8.5
This is probably the biggest game of the weekend, as it will likely decide who is going to the SEC Championship game, and will heavily impact the college football playoff. Georgia has looked vulnerable at times this season, and Tennessee is coming in with a high-powered offense. The Vols might not win this game outright, but they have enough firepower to keep it close.
Colts @ Patriots (-5)
Pick: Patriots -5
The Patriots aren’t exactly a team that runs the score up, but they should be able to cover here. We just saw that the Patriots can make young quarterbacks look foolish a week ago against Zach Wilson and the Jets. Sam Ehlinger is starting for the Colts, and this is a tough spot for him on the road. Expect the Patriots to lean on the run game and defense in a comfortable win.
Vikings (-3) @ Commanders
Pick: Vikings -3
The Commanders are on a three-game winning streak, but the Vikings have quietly been one of the better teams in the league. Washington is clearly better than their 1-4 start indicated, but beating Chicago, Green Bay and Indianapolis is not enough to pick them against the Vikings.
Gas Station Sushi (Stay Away)
Rams @ Buccaneers (-3)
This game looked a lot better on paper during the summer than it does now. Both of these offenses are struggling, and it’s hard to know who will actually show up for this game. Expect a sloppy game with some turnovers. The winner will probably be the one to make fewer mistakes, and it’s hard to tell who that will be. Stay away from betting on this game.
