Mega Football Weekend Betting Preview

By Ryan Bologna

Some say the first four weeks of the NFL season is an extension of the preseason, and with how inconsistent some teams have been it might be true. We’re still learning who everyone is, but there are still some good bets to make. We know a little bit more about college teams at this point. Here are some of the best bets for this football weekend.

No. 7 Kentucky @ No. 14 Ole Miss (-7)

Pick: Kentucky +7

There are a ton of ranked matchups in college this week, and this might be the most intriguing. Kentucky quarterback Will Levis looks like a future NFL quarterback. If he gets good protection from his offensive line the Wildcats should be able to keep up. Kentucky might not win, but expect a closer game than seven points.

Arizona Cardinals @ Carolina Panthers (-2.5)

Pick: Cardinals +2.5

The Panthers got their first win of the season last week, but it came against a broken back Jameis Winston. Christian McCaffrey has been dealing with a thigh injury and might miss this game, but even if he does play the Cardinals are the play here. Baker Mayfield isn’t anything special and Ben McAdoo’s system is very predictable. The Cardinals should take this one.

Kansas City Chiefs (-1) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Pick: Chiefs -1

This doesn’t make too much sense to me. I know the Chiefs just lost to the Colts on the road, but the Buccaneers just look dysfunctional on offense. This is essentially a pick ‘em. Tom Brady doesn’t look like Tom Terrific so far this year. Expect the Chiefs to take this game.

Gas Station Sushi (Stay Away)

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts (-3)

This game is just fishy. It’s early and the season and both of these teams have been wildly inconsistent. Both of them rely on their run game with Derrick Henry and Jonathan Taylor as well. This feels like a game where the first one to make a brutal mistake will lose, and there’s no telling who will do that. Stay. Away.
