Since the game doesn’t determine the home field for the World Series anymore, the MLB All-Star game has become more about having fun than taking it seriously. That doesn’t mean the All-Star game isn’t fun to watch and it certainly doesn’t mean we can’t bet on some fun props. I’m going to give you some picks I like — some may be a little wacky, but it’s hard to bet on this style of game.
1st Inning Result: National League +370
I feel like the National League is going to come out hot in the first inning as it has the ultimate spark plug in Ronald Acuna Jr. at the top of the lineup. The NL’s 1-3 hitters are also extremely scary with Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman following. I like the NL to jump out to an early lead and have Zac Gallen hold it down in the bottom half.
Freddie Freeman O 1.5 Bases +145
This bet is building off my first one. I think the NL is going to touch up Gerrit Cole a little bit and Freeman is going to get an at-bat against him in the first. Freeman has seen Cole well over the course of his career, hitting .353 with three doubles in just 17 at-bats. Not to mention, Freeman leads all of baseball in doubles so he’s always a threat to hit this over with one swing of the bat.
Game Total O 7 -122
In the past couple of years, the games have been low scoring, but I feel like this year, we’re going to see some offense. Even though T-Mobile Park is considered pitcher-friendly, I like both offenses to click and hit the over at seven runs. Also, who wants to bet the under in an all-star game? I’m hoping for some homers and a lot of runs tonight.
