Baseball fans get a bonus day, while a doubleheader will decide the fate of three teams with their eyes set on two playoff spots.

The Braves host the Mets on Monday to complete their regular seasons, since the games were delayed by Hurricane Helene. They each control their own destinies. One win and they’re in the playoffs.

And that is bad news for the D-backs, who need one team to sweep Monday’s doubleheader. It doesn’t matter which team. Otherwise, their season is over.

The first game will start at 1:10 p.m. ET. The second game will begin approximately 40 minutes after the first game ends.

Here are the postseason brackets (with World Series odds) as we wait Monday’s decisive doubleheader:

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Bye: No. 1 Yankees (+450) and No. 2 Guardians (+1100)
Wild Card: No. 6 Royals (+2500) at No. 3 Astros (+850) (winner plays Guardians)
Wild Card: No. 5 Tigers (+2700) at No. 4 Orioles (+1200) (winner plays Yankees)

NATIONAL LEAGUE
Bye: No. 1 Dodgers +350) and No. 2 Phillies (+360)
Wild Card: No. 6 TBD at No. 3 Brewers (+1900) (winner plays Phillies)
Wild Card: No. 5 TBD at No. 4 Padres(+1100) (winner plays Dodgers)

Those TBDs in the National League bracket will be two of the Braves (+2500), Diamondbacks (+4800) and Mets (+3200). The Braves and Mets will decide everyone’s fate with their doubleheader and you can bet the D-backs will be paying extremely close attention.
