NBA Opening Night spreads posted

With the Olympics over, the basketball focus now shifts to the NBA with opening night a little over two months away. A Yahoo! Sports report revealed the double-header to tip off the season on Oct. 22, while DraftKings posted point spreads and totals.

The defending champion Boston Celtics will raise the banner and host the rival New York Knicks as 4.5-point favorites with an over/under of 220.5.

Boston is returning nearly its entire roster, while New York added Mikal Bridges in a major trade to join former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo. The Knicks are the third Eastern Conference favorite with +450 odds with Boston (+145) and the Philadelphia 76ers (+425) ahead of them.

In the second game of the TNT double-header, the Los Angeles Lakers host the Minnesota Timberwolves as one-point favorites with a total of 224.5. LeBron James will be entering his 22nd season and turn 40 years old in December.
