The Oklahoma City Thunder made significant offseason changes, and the betting market indicates they will compete with the defending champion Boston Celtics for the NBA’s best record.

Boston has the highest win total for the upcoming season with 58.5 wins, after posting a 64-18 mark and finishing with the league’s best record. The Thunder’s win total is 56.5, after winning 57 games last year and earning the Western Conference’s top seed.

This offseason OKC signed seven-footer Isaiah Hartenstein, who will add much-needed interior presence after ranking 20th with 8.3 rebounds per game.

The Thunder also bolstered their defense by trading for Alex Caruso, who earned All-Defense 1st Team honors last year. The 30-year-old, who won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers, will add veteran leadership to the league’s youngest roster.

The New York Knicks made the most noteworthy moves, acquiring Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges in separate trades. They have the third-highest win total at 54.5.

In the Western Conference, only OKC, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets have a win total over 50, while four Eastern Conference teams do.
