Duke 12-2
Duke is having a great season so far, with a record of 12-2, and recently moved up to the top spot in the rankings after a series of impressive wins. Currently, Duke has a total of 375 points, which is a testament to its consistently strong performances on the field. In its most recent game, Duke faced off against Syracuse and emerged victorious with an 18-15 scoreline. The team has one more game left in the regular season, which will be against Merrimack on May 7. It remains to be seen how Duke will fare in the upcoming postseason, but its current form suggests that it will be a force to be reckoned with in the world of college lacrosse.
Virginia 11-3
Virginia men’s lacrosse has had an impressive season so far with a record of 11-3 and recently moved up to the No. 1 spot in the rankings, showing its strength in the NCAA lacrosse world. With 362 total points, Virginia is certainly a team to watch out for. This past weekend, Virginia played against No. 1-ranked Notre Dame and came out on top with a 12-8 victory, and since this was its final game of the season, Virginia got to finish on a high note with a big win against a tough opponent. Virginia will now prepare for the first round of the NCAA Tournament on May 13. Virginia’s opponent is TBD.
Notre Dame 9-2
The Norte Dame men’s lacrosse team has had a strong season with a record of 9-2, however, recently fell from the top spot in the country to third. The Fighting Irish currently have 346 total points, but their recent loss to No. 2 Virginia by a score of 12-8 has impacted their ranking. Notre Dame will now prepare for its next game against North Carolina, which is set to take place on Saturday, May 6. It will be an important matchup for Norte Dame as it looks to bounce back and regain momentum heading into the postseason.
Johns Hopkins 11-4
Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse is having a strong season with a record of 11-4 and are currently ranked fourth in the country with 311 total points. John Hopkins’ game will be against in-state rival Maryland, who is currently ranked seventh in the country. The game is set to take place on Thursday, May 4, and it’s sure to be an exciting matchup between two top-ranked teams. The Blue Jays will be looking to continue their winning streak and maintain their strong position in the national rankings.
Penn State 9-3
Penn State has been having a strong season so far, with a 9-3 record and a current ranking of fifth in the country. Penn State has accumulated a total of 308 points as of now, with notable victories against highly-ranked teams like Ohio State and Rutgers. The next game will be against Michigan on Thursday, May 4 and Penn State will be looking to continue its momentum by securing another win. With a talented roster and strong performances throughout the season, Penn State is definitely a team to watch in the upcoming games and potentially in the national championship.
