NFL Divisional Round Betting Preview

By Ryan Bologna

After an exciting wild card weekend in the NFL, the divisional round is set up to be entertaining as well. Many people claim this is the best NFL weekend of the year. Here are the bets you might want to consider for this weekend’s games.

Season Record: 23-33-4

Jaguars @ Chiefs (-9)

Pick: Chiefs -9

This is a big number, but the Chiefs were underrated coming into the season because of Tyreek Hill’s departure here. A lot of people like the Jaguars in this spot, but they won’t be able to stay competitive in this game if they run into the turnover issues they dealt with last week. Expect the Chiefs to comfortably earn another trip to the AFC Championship.

Giants @ Eagles (-7.5)

Pick: Giants +7.5

I have avoided picking Giants games this year because I am a fan of the team, but there is no avoiding them anymore. As a fan, I am not expecting a win, but the Giants have turned into a different team over the last month of the season. They are no longer just a running team, they have put the offense in Daniel Jones’ hands and he has delivered. The Eagles are a stacked roster, but the Giants have a knack for playing close games. Expect the Giants to cover in this spot.

Bengals @ Bills (-5.5)

Pick Bengals +5.5

This will no doubt be an emotional game. The Bills will be fired up, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them bring out Damar Hamlin to pump up the crowd for this game. However, the Bills have played sloppy. Josh Allen has made some boneheaded mistakes this season, so that might be in play. The Bengals are dealing with offensive line injuries, but the Bills pass rush hasn’t showed up much either. Burrow ran for his life in last year’s playoffs, he should have enough time to find his stud receivers in this one. The Bengals should cover, and they might even win outright.

Gas Station Sushi (Stay Away)

Cowboys @ 49ers (-4)

This is a weird game. The Cowboys looked great on Monday night, but stunk up the joint against the Commanders the week before. The 49ers could pull away if Brock Purdy plays another clean game, but he is a rookie 7th-round pick after all. There is a good amount of risk for both sides of the spread here. It should be an entertaining game, good enough to enjoy without betting on it.
