Oddsmakers unfazed by rookie QB debuts

While Bears and Commanders fan bases are immediately celebrating their franchise quarterbacks, the betting market is demonstrating caution with the extremely limited action by the top two overall draft picks.

The Offensive Rookie of the Year odds for both Caleb Williams (+140) and Jayden Daniels (+600) essentially remained unchanged at FanDuel, even though each Heisman Trophy winner looked sharp in their preseason debuts and made highlight-worthy plays.

Williams completed four of seven passes, while Daniels was 2/3. Those stat lines are not on Canton’s radar but completions and first downs are certainly better than the alternative.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is the third favorite with +850 odds. Fellow wideouts Xavier Worthy and Malik Nabers are next with +1400 odds. Dener Broncos QB Bo Nix has +2000 odds.
