With another clutch hit that drove in three runs on Monday, San Diego Padres standout Jackson Merrill continues to shine and completely disrupt the betting market for the NL Rookie of the Year.

Just a few weeks ago, last year’s top overall pick Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates was an overwhelming -6000 favorite. The award seemed inevitable. However, his odds are now just -130 at DraftKings.

Merrill is now the second favorite at +100, after batting .315 this month with 15 RBI in 15 games. His odds were around +1500 to start this month.

Skenes continues to post impressive numbers but a pitcher has only won this award once in the last decade in both the AL and NL. The righty has a 2.30 ERA and is the third favorite for NL Cy Young with +2000 odds.
