Shohei Ohtani is now the odds-on favorite to win the National League MVP with -105 odds at DraftKings and could make baseball history. There has never been an MVP whose primary position was Designated Hitter.

He currently leads the N.L. with a .321 batting average and 23 home runs. He ranks third in RBI with 57.

The slugger became the betting favorite one week ago when teammate Mookie Betts fractured his left hand and will miss six to eight weeks.

The two-time American League MVP could join Frank Robinson as the only players to win the award in each league.

Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies is the second favorite at +220. Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres is third with +900 odds.
