The two teams we saw decide the Stanley Cup in seven games are the betting favorites entering the 2024-25 NHL season. While the Florida Panthers won the title, the Edmonton Oilers are the +800 favorites at DraftKings for this coming season.

Edmonton is led by three-time Hart Trophy winner Connor McDavid, who also earned the Conn Smythe Award as the playoff MVP, despite not hoisting the Cup. Along with superstar McDavid, Leon Draisaitl is among the top players in the league.

The Panthers are the second favorite with +1000 odds. The Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021 was the last repeat NHL champion.

The NHL also technically welcomes an expansion team in the Utah Hockey Club but it in a lot of ways, it is a relocation of the Phoenix Coyotes. That is why Utah’s odds are +5500 to win the Stanley Cup, while longshots like the San Jose Sharks are +20000.
