OKC’s SGA now -330 MVP favorite

After crushing the Eastern Conference’s top seed, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shot up the NBA MVP betting board and is now a -330 favorite at FanDuel.

SGA and the Oklahoma City Thunder blew out the Cleveland Cavaliers, 134-114, and both teams are tied for the NBA’s best record at 34-6. The point guard finished with 40 points on 17-26 shooting.

SGA was the second betting favorite until about two weeks ago but then passed Nikola Jokic to become the betting favorite. The Joker is now the second favorite with +260 odds.

SGA currently leads the league in scoring at 31.4 points per game, while also averaging 6.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds. He also ranks third with 2.0 steals per game.

Jokic, a three-time MVP, was averaging a triple-double but he currently sits with 30.6 points, 13.2 rebounds and 9.9 assists. Additionally, he’s posting career-highs in points, minutes, steals, three-pointers made and three-point percentage.

Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (6), Bill Russell (5), Michael Jordan (5), Wilt Chamberlain (4) and LeBron James (4) have more MVP awards.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the third favorite with +4000 odds at FanDuel, followed by Jayson Tatum with +5000 odds.
