OKC’s SGA now -155 MVP favorite

Just days after becoming the NBA MVP betting favorite for the first time this season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has seen his odds shift from -105 to -155 at FanDuel.

SGA passed Nikola Jokic, who had been the odds-on favorite for the past month. Gilgeous-Alexander and Jokic were +110 co-favorites at DraftKings on January 2nd but SGA is now -145.

The Thunder own the league’s second-best record at 30-5, having won 15 straight games. SGA currently ranks third in scoring with 31.3 points per game, while also averaging 6.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds. He also ranks third with 2.0 steals per game.

Jokic and the Nuggets are currently the Western Conference’s fourth seed. His MVP odds are +135 at FanDuel.

The three-time MVP was averaging a triple-double but he currently sits with 31.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 9.7 assists. Additionally, he’s posting career-highs in points, minutes, steals, three-pointers made and three-point percentage.

Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (6), Bill Russell (5), Michael Jordan (5), Wilt Chamberlain (4) and LeBron James (4) have more MVP awards.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the third favorite with +2000 odds at FanDuel, followed by Jayson Tatum with +3500 odds.
