Since returning from injury, Gerrit Cole has thrived – except when he faces the Mets. Now he faces a weak Nationals lineup who also have Patrick Corbin on the mound.

This has all the makings of public money and it’s surprising that it’s such a low money line. I’m talking about the Yankees facing the Nationals. And we saw what happened on Monday. Yanks offense starting to get going. Sunday they had the consecutive homers and this Nats team is just shaky and Patrick Corbin on the bump against Gerrit Cole for New York. So only -220. I know that’s a pretty hefty number all things considered. But when you figure the match up and it’s Garrett Cole against Patrick Corbin.

Honestly, I thought this would be minus $3. Just given how things are going with the Yanks offense now that they’re getting healthy, Judge has more protection, Stanton went yard the other day. There’s a lot to like right now with New York and Corbin, he’s not as bad as his reputation. I think he gets a tough go about with some of the criticism, Patrick Corbin day and everything, but he’ll still get roughed up against good lineups. Now he pitched well at home in his last outing against Colorado, but that’s Colorado’s offense away from Coors.

Now he did pitch okay against Philly, I mean, nine base runners and four and two thirds, that’s okay, I guess. But I think the Yankees feast on that. They’re seeing the ball real well. Geritt Cole, he’s been excellent since coming back from injury, except when he faces the Mets. Take out those appearances. I think you get a strong outing from Cole. I think he’s fresher, obviously missing a bunch of time. And I think he’s healthy now. I think there’s a sign of a by -low spot on Cole. So I’d lay the 220, I really would.

And I found a prop, one of our staff members told me about DJ LeMahieu. Obviously he’s been putrid this year and Yankee fans can’t stand it and I get it. He’s batting less than 200, but he owns Patrick Corbin. He has a 393 career batting average against him. And of those 22 hits, six have been dingers. So you’re getting plus 950 on him to go yard. I think it’s worth a very small, small, like maybe 0 .1, 0 .2 of a unit.

But maybe LeMahieu just owns him and with all that protection in the Yanks lineup, maybe he sees a good pick.
