Dodgers and Giants Wednesday evening and it’s a really interesting matchup. You have Tyler Glasnow for LA who is fourth favorite right now in the Cy Young race going for the Dodgers. But Robbie Ray, former Cy Young award winner making his Giants debut and his first action on the mound in 16 months. Dodgers -190 favorites with your over under at eight. So let’s talk about Robbie Ray, the aforementioned pitcher who did well in a minor league start.

Giants traded for him in the off season, knew he would be ready till back half of the season. And we don’t really know what to expect. Yeah, we’ll get to see him grunting on the mound in tight pants like he normally does, but just how effective is he gonna be? Again, former Cy Young winner in 2021 with Toronto, but coming off major surgeries, repairs UCL and flexor tendon in his left throwing elbow, could be on a pitch count. Just don’t know what to expect.

But good to see him healthy and maybe bolstering this Giants starting staff that also has Logan Webb and then Blake Snell since coming off the injured list has been fantastic. So some optimism for the Giants to try to make a playoff push. Division’s probably not in the cards. As for the Dodgers who looked great, obviously won a pitcher’s duel on Monday. The bats woke up on Tuesday, but I’d be careful laying this kind of lumber. In fact, I think the right bet here is Giants team total over.

Why is that now? Well, it’s because Glasnow, if you believe these splits, has not been good at home at night. During the day, it’s been lights out, but an ERA over six at home starts at night. Now the Giants offense isn’t exactly potent, but it’s something to keep in mind. Like I would look to the over eight or the Giants team total. I don’t think we’re going to see a vintage Glasnow game. One note as well, Tyler Fitzgerald, the red hot rookie for the Giants.

He’s homered in five straight games. No rookie in baseball history has homered in six straight. So maybe can find a flyer on his home run prop to maybe partake in baseball history.
