So far, so good for Team Canada. This team made up of 11 NBA players, the second favorite to win gold behind, of course, the Americans. This is a tricky spot for them, the end of group play. Canada, favored by nine over Spain. You’re over under 169. Now, this number was 10, got bet down to nine and a half and then to nine. I actually kind of like the underdog here. I just think Spain, which also beat Greece outright as about a four and a half point underdog just plays the international game better than a group of NBA teams put together now, or NBA players. Now, obviously the talent gap is favors Canada, but their bigs are Dwight Powell, Kelly Olynyk. They’re thin in the middle. Now, Spain is not the Spain of old, like 2008 silver medalist team that had the Gasol brothers, Ricky Rubio. Now, Rudy Fernandez is still around, but they have some players that can keep this game interesting in the crowd. But I think the best way to play this is team total. I think Spain is going to push the pace score a bunch. I don’t think the Canadians are going to be really interested in defense. This is not going to be like an intense game for them. They don’t have to win. They think they can probably cruise. So I like first half team total over for Spain and then game team total over. Those are my favorite bets of international hoops on Friday. So I think there’s some legit value just given that Spain will push the pace. Now they may give up a million, but who cares? We’re just playing their team total over.
