I don’t think its the White Sox’s year I really don’t. Now, obviously tongue in cheek there and I’m not trying to kick them while they’re down, but this is just a painful, painful car accident I can’t look away from. 21 straight losses for the Southsiders.

Tying the American League record since 1900 and they’re only too shy of the baseball record. So they’re really within striking distance. I mean, the all time record is 26 going back to the 1800. So things are real. They’re not starting to get real. They’re real. So after losing game one in Oakland, game two, Tuesday night and Jonathan Cannon, the rookie for the Southsiders getting the bump.

Now he was supposed to start on Monday. We previewed that game, but he’s actually getting the call for Tuesday against Ross Tripling who has pretty brutal numbers, but he actually pitched great in his last outing against the Giants. So what do we make of this White Sox team? Well, let’s put some of this losing streak in perspective. 17 of the 21 losses during the skid have come by at least two runs. So the opponent has covered the run line. They’ve been an underdog in all of them shockingly Chicago. And then the team total of three and a half has gone under in 18 of 21 games. for the White Sox and I expect it to continue. There’s no reason why I think they’re all of sudden gonna break out the bats against stripling. Now they had the travel, maybe Monday they were a little bit worse than they could have been. But the question here is, I actually think Cannon’s pretty good in his last five starts, three of them, he’s given up two earned or less.

So he’s got good stuff, an ERA of four plus on the year, but all things considered, he’s got the makings of a decent outing, so does stripling. I just don’t think much of this White Sox lineup really going on the ledge there, but I’m gonna have to keep fading them. I’ll single out the team total here. I think we see an under for the White Sox three and a half yet again, given that it’s connected in 18 of the 21 straight losses.
