PLL Week 2 Recap & Week 3 Odds

Chrome vs. Archers

In Week 2, the Archers won the matchup against the Chrome 12-7. The Chrome’s offense was led by Jackson Morrill, who finished the game with five goals. On the other side, Tom Schreiber showcased his playmaking abilities for the Archers, contributing with one goal and five assists. 

In the faceoff department, Connor Farrell battled hard for the Chrome, winning 11 out of 20 faceoffs while also collecting five ground balls. Meanwhile, Mike Sisselberger of the Archers went 10-for-21 on faceoffs, and secured four ground balls and one point. Both teams had to rely on the goalies to make critical saves throughout the game. Sean Sconone of the Chrome notched an impressive 10 saves while Brett Dobson, the Archers’ goalkeeper, stood tall with a remarkable 18 saves, proving to be a strong presence in the net.

From a betting perspective, the Archers covered their spread of -1.5 and successfully cashed their money line bet of -115. Additionally, the total goals scored in the game fell comfortably under the projected total of 24.5 with a final count of 19 goals.

Waterdogs vs. Redwoods

The Redwoods staged a remarkable comeback to secure an exciting 10-9 victory over the Waterdogs this past weekend. Despite starting the game down six goals, the Redwoods rallied back and managed to tie the game 6-6 by the second quarter. The Waterdogs’ offense was led by Michael Sowers, who showcased his offensive skills with two goals and two assists, however, it was Rob Pannell of the Redwoods who contributed three goals and one assist to his team’s victory.

In the faceoff battle, TD Ierlan of the Redwoods went 12-for-22, securing six ground balls. On the other side, the Waterdog James Reilly put up a strong fight, winning 10 out of his 21 faceoffs and collecting three ground balls. Reilly’s teammate Matt DeLuca stopped 14 shots, but it was the Redwoods goalie Jack Kelly who put on an impressive performance, making a total of 19 saves.

The Redwoods covered their spread of +1.5 and successfully cashed their moneyline bet of +100. The total number of goals scored in the game was 19, comfortably falling below the O/U line of 24.5.

Whipsnakes vs. Atlas

The Atlas emerged victorious this weekend with a narrow 12-11 win against the Whipsnakes. With just 18 seconds remaining on the clock, Chris Gray scored a crucial goal, securing the win for his team. The Whipsnakes’ attack was led by Matt Rambo, who contributed four goals and one assist, but it wasn’t enough to get past Atlas’ Jeff Teat, who led his team with three goals and two assists.

Rookie Petey LaSalla struggled in his second career game, winning only nine out of his 23 faceoffs. In contrast, the seasoned Trevor Baptiste, known for his faceoff skills, performed well for the Atlas and finished the game with a faceoff record of 15-23.

As we saw in other matchups last weekend, both teams heavily relied on their goaltenders, who both played very well. Kyle Bernlohr displayed an impressive performance, stopping a total of 17 shots. On the other side of the field, Jack Concannon had also played exceptionally well, making a total of 13 total to keep his team in contention.

The Whipsnakes covered their spread of +1.5, while the Atlas successfully cashed their moneyline bet of -125. The under of 23.5 just barely hit with a total of 23 goals being scored in the matchup.

Chaos vs. Cannons

In the last game of the weekend, the Chaos defeated the Cannons 14-13 in a nailbiter that ended with an overtime goal by Josh Byrne. The fourth quarter of this matchup was one for the books — starting the quarter down four, the Cannons were able to go on a four-goal streak, which included a two-pointer by Matt Campbell with 1:04 left on the clock to tie it up. The Chaos offense was led by Byrne who finished the game with three goals and one assist, including the overtime winner while Marcus Holman led the scoring for the Cannons with three goals and one assist.

In the faceoff department, both FOGOs played well. Nick Rowlett finished this matchup 12-for- 26 with eight ground balls and one point, and the Cannons’ faceoff man, Stephan Kelly, went 15-for- 25 with 10 ground balls. Blaze Riorden continued to show why he is the best goalie in the league, finishing this game with 14 saves and a 56 percent save percentage. Adam Ghitelman did not play as well for the Waterdogs, finishing this game with only nine saves and a save percentage of only 40.9 percent.

The Cannons were able to cover their spread of +1.5, but the Chaos cashed their moneyline of -130. The O/U line for this game was set at 23.5, which let the over hit comfortably with a total of 27 goals scored between both teams.
